I kind of spoiled myself for 6.14 and now I can't watch the Dean-n-Lisa montage because of all the cringing promised to me. I really, really just want to skip to the end. Does this make me a bad fan?

I don't so much mind cheesy montages with the other characters... it's just Dean and Lisa. Their whole relationship just seems to forced and flat to me, that the thought of sitting through all that made me throw up in my mouth a little. :P

Lol sorry for the mini rant. I just think John is a really interesting character, so I'm glad you liked the way I portrayed him.
I agree about the Dean/Lisa thing. I mean I thought the relationship that they had when we first met her was the most realistic portrayal.

Can you draw an alternate version of 6.14 instead? Maybe with a montage of Dean and Cas moments? :D

Plus, it depends. If you like the Dean/Lisa thing, yeah, it's cheesey, but SPN never did go for subtle, so it kind of rolls off.
I was imagining D/S and D/C fans screaming about how it's all a cover-up for who Dean OBVIOUSLY LOVES and how the writers must hate the fans!!! and kind of amusing myself at the imaginary meltdowns.
This episode, IMO, outside the sledgehammer o' montage, was better written than last week, in any case. The last scene is really nice to see.

The reason I don't like it is this: we're constantly told how happy they were. How this was Dean's one chance at happiness, and now he's throwing it away. BUT, we never saw this. Not really, except for a few flash backs. What we have seen is them being moody, unhappy, worried, generally in pain and we've been presented with a situation that seemed to be doomed from the start.
This is not the way to sell an OTP!!!
I'm just not feeling it.
If we'd seen half a season of Dean and Lisa working through their issues, being happy, having ups and downs, slowly building a family and Dean and Ben bonding, then I'd be on the front lines of the Dean/Lisa parade.
Also, at the beginning Lisa even mentions how difficult that year was, how poorly Dean was coping and how much he was drinking. Which yeah, makes sense. But doesn't reinforce the "one chance at a happily ever after" argument.
So, ehm, rant over.
I've just been very dissapointed with the writing of that plot line.
You're not being a bad fan.
Let's all just pretend it never happened...
ps. this is only a reaction to 6.14, haven't had a chance to watch this weekend's episode yet.
